It highlights the Shaiva ethic of humility and reverence: true devotion is expressed through respectful salutations, praise, and worship offered without arrogance—an essential disposition for receiving grace (anugraha).
Though the verse describes salutations and worship in general, it reflects the outward form of Saguna worship (arcana with devotion). In Shaiva practice, the same attitude culminates in Linga-arcana—offering worship with folded hands, praise, and surrendered intention.
The implied practice is namaskāra with añjali (folded palms), followed by stuti (hymnic praise) and arcana (devotional worship). A Shaiva takeaway is to pair such worship with mantra-japa—especially the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—performed in a humble, reverent mood.
