Suta Goswami (narrating the Sati Khanda account to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It condemns ego (ahaṅkāra) that makes one belittle others and even disrespect Shiva, the Supreme Yogi; Shaiva teaching here is that humility and recognition of Pati (Shiva) are essential for liberation.
The verse highlights Shiva as the supreme, sense-conquering Lord; Linga worship trains the devotee to bow down, dissolve pride, and approach Saguna Shiva with reverence rather than judgment or social status.
Cultivate indriya-nigraha (sense-restraint) through japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), along with simple Shaiva disciplines like vibhuti (Tripundra) and meditation on Shiva as the inner Yogi.
