The verse highlights the supremacy of Śiva’s divine will and the unfolding of dharma through destiny: when a union is aligned with cosmic order (Pati–Śakti), it manifests inevitably, teaching surrender and trust in the Lord’s governance.
Śiva here is approached as Saguna—Lord who acts in the world through līlā—yet the inevitability of the event points to his higher sovereignty. Linga-worship similarly trains the devotee to accept Śiva as both immanent (present in rites) and transcendent (controller of destiny).
A practical takeaway is śaraṇāgati (surrender) supported by japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” offered with steady devotion—especially suitable in vrata and worship connected with Śiva–Pārvatī, such as Mahāśivarātri observance.
