शिवपुत्रजननवर्णनम् — Description of the Birth/Manifestation of Śiva’s Son
ताः षड् मुनिस्त्रियो मोहाद्धठात्तत्र गता मुने । स्वशीतविनिवृत्त्यर्थं मोहिताः शिवमायया
tāḥ ṣaḍ munistriyo mohāddhaṭhāttatra gatā mune | svaśītavinivṛttyarthaṃ mohitāḥ śivamāyayā
圣者啊,那六位仙人之妻因迷惑而骤然前往彼处;为求解除自身寒冷,她们被湿婆的摩耶所迷。

The verse highlights that worldly impulses and even seemingly practical motives can become occasions for delusion; Śiva’s māyā reveals how the bound soul (paśu) is easily veiled by circumstance, urging discernment and devotion toward Pati (Śiva) for liberation.
By showing Śiva as the Lord of māyā who governs experience, it supports Saguna Śiva worship—approaching Śiva (often as the Liṅga) with bhakti and purity to be guided beyond भ्रम (delusion) into clarity and grace.
A practical takeaway is to counter delusion with japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and disciplined purity (śauca), using steady remembrance of Śiva to cool the mind’s agitation and regain inner clarity.
