द्वारपाल-गणेशसंवादः / The Dialogue at the Gate: Gaṇeśa and Śiva’s Gaṇas
कृतं चेद्वाकृतं चैव कर्त्तव्यं क्रियतां त्वया । जितो यस्तु पुनर्वापि न वैरमथ वा ध्रुवम्
kṛtaṃ cedvākṛtaṃ caiva karttavyaṃ kriyatāṃ tvayā | jito yastu punarvāpi na vairamatha vā dhruvam
无论事情已做成或尚未做成,你都应当行所当行。因为那再度被征服之人,长久的仇怨并非必然。
Lord Shiva (inferred within Rudrasaṃhitā, Kumārakhaṇḍa narrative counsel)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
It teaches steadfast performance of kartavya (right duty) while loosening the knot of hatred; in Shaiva thought, ego-born enmity binds the paśu, while disciplined action and forbearance prepare the mind for Shiva’s grace.
Linga-worship centers the devotee in Shiva as the inner ruler (Pati); this verse complements that worship by urging action guided by dharma rather than reactive vengeance—an attitude that purifies the heart for Saguna devotion and leads toward the Nirguna truth.
Adopt a daily sankalpa of duty with japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and before worship apply Tripuṇḍra-bhasma while consciously releasing vairabhāva (enmity), turning the mind toward steadiness and restraint.
