द्वारपाल-गणेशसंवादः / The Dialogue at the Gate: Gaṇeśa and Śiva’s Gaṇas
ब्रह्मोवाच । इति सर्वे महेशेन जग्मुस्तत्र मुनीश्वर । भर्त्सितास्तेन देवेन प्रोचुश्च गणसत्तमाः
brahmovāca | iti sarve maheśena jagmustatra munīśvara | bhartsitāstena devena procuśca gaṇasattamāḥ
梵天说道:“于是,噢诸牟尼之最胜者,他们都随大自在天(Maheśa)前往彼处。被那位神明呵责之后,湿婆的众伽那中最卓越者便开口说道。”
Brahma
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It highlights Maheśa as the compassionate yet disciplining Lord (Pati) who corrects even his own gaṇas—showing that divine grace in Śaiva thought includes guidance, restraint, and moral alignment for the devotee’s purification.
The verse emphasizes Saguna Śiva—Maheśa acting personally within the world, leading and correcting his attendants. This supports devotional worship where the Lord is approached as a living, responsive protector and teacher, as in Linga worship and daily pūjā.
The practical takeaway is humility and self-correction before Śiva: perform japa of the Pañcākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") with a repentant, disciplined mind, optionally accompanied by Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa as aids to steadiness and devotion.
