अतिकायवधः
The Slaying of Atikāya
यस्यबाहूसमाश्रित्यलङ्कावसतिनिर्भया ।तनयंधान्यमालिन्याअतिकायमिमंविदुः ।।।।
yasya bāhū samāśritya laṅkā vasati nirbhayā | tanayaṃ dhānyamālinyāḥ atikāyam imaṃ viduḥ ||
当知此人即阿提迦耶,乃陀尼耶摩利尼之子;兰迦依凭其双臂而安住,无所畏惧。
"He is known as Atikaya, son of Dhanyamalini. Lanka remains fearless on his shoulders, you may know."
The verse highlights the duty of discernment in war: leaders must recognize formidable threats accurately so that righteous action (protecting one’s allies and the innocent) can be taken without delay.
A knowledgeable ally identifies Atikāya to Rāma’s side, emphasizing that Laṅkā feels secure under his protection.
Prudence and truthful counsel—giving clear identification of an opponent so the righteous side can respond wisely.
