Auspicious Omens Arise for Sita
शुभं पुनर्हेमसमानवर्ण मीषद्रजोध्वस्तमिवामलाक्ष्याः।वास स्स्थिताया श्शिखराग्रदन्त्याः किञ्चित्परिस्रंसत चारुगात्य्राः।।5.29.5।।
śubhaṃ punar hemasamānavarṇam īṣadrajodhvastam ivāmalākṣyāḥ | vāsaḥ sthitāyāḥ śikharāgradantyāḥ kiñcit parisraṃsata cārugātryāḥ ||5.29.5||
又一吉兆显现:那位明眸女子的衣裳,色如黄金却略被尘埃所晦;她立着时衣襟微微滑落。她齿列端美,肢体娴雅。
Her eyes were pristine, teeth well-shaped. The gold-hued auspicious sari on her charming limbs was now a little soiled on account of dust. It slipped slightly as she stood up. This augured well for her.
Righteous endurance is met with favorable turning points: the auspicious sign underscores that steadfast satya is not abandoned by the moral order of the epic.
