लक्ष्मणक्रोधः सुग्रीवप्रबोधनं च
Lakshmana’s Wrath and the Summoning of Sugriva
तान्गृहीतप्रहरणान्सर्वान्दृष्ट्वा तु लक्ष्मणः।।बभूव द्विगुणं क्रुद्धो बह्विन्धन इवानलः।
tān gṛhītapraharaṇān sarvān dṛṣṭvā tu lakṣmaṇaḥ |
babhūva dviguṇaṃ kruddho bahvindhana ivānalaḥ ||
然而罗什曼那见他们尽皆执械,怒火便倍增,如烈焰得了丰厚柴薪而愈发炽盛。
On seeing the monkeys wielding weapons, Lakshmana's anger doubled like logs of firewood put to burning.
The verse cautions that anger, once ‘fueled’ by opposition, rapidly intensifies; dharma requires mastery over krodha so that justice does not become destructive.
The guards’ armed readiness provokes Lakṣmaṇa further, heightening the tension at Kiṣkindhā’s entrance.
Protective zeal for righteousness—though the verse simultaneously foregrounds the danger of uncontrolled wrath.
