Autumn’s Onset: Rama’s Lament and Lakshmana Sent to Sugriva
स पूर्वजं तीव्रविवृद्धकोपंलालप्यमानं प्रसमीक्ष्य दीनम्।चकार तीव्रां मतिमुग्रतेजाहरीश्वरे मानववंशनाथः।।
sa pūrvajaṃ tīvravivṛddha-kopaṃ |
lālapyamānaṃ prasamīkṣya dīnam |
cakāra tīvrāṃ matim ugra-tejā |
harīśvare mānava-vaṃśa-nāthaḥ ||
见到长兄悲苦哀叹、怒火愈加炽烈,那威猛而光耀的罗什曼那(Lakṣmaṇa)——人族之系的守护者——便对猿王(苏格利婆 Sugrīva)坚定了严厉的决意。
On seeing Rama, the protector of the human race, wailing Lakshmana of terrific lustre hardened his stand against Sugriva and proceeded, charged with intense anger.ইত্যার্ষে শ্রীমদ্রামাযণে বাল্মীকীয আদিকাব্যে কিষ্কিন্ধাকাণ্ডে ত্রিংশস্সর্গঃThus ends the thirtieth sarga of Kishkindakanda of the Holy Ramayana, the first epic, composed by sage Valmiki.

After Rāma’s message, Lakṣmaṇa, stirred by Rāma’s grief and anger, prepares to confront Sugrīva to enforce the pledge.
