履行你对我的真实誓言吧,哦,猿众之王;以永恒之法(dharma)为念,守护你的承诺。莫要今日被我所发之箭击倒,前往阎摩之界,在那里见到婆梨(Vālī)。
'O lord of monkeys! Carry out the promise you made to me, consider it to be eternal dharma. Slain by my arrows, you will see Vali in the abode of the lord of death.'
Promise-keeping is elevated to śāśvata-dharma (enduring duty). Satya is not optional; it is the moral foundation of political friendship and righteous action.
Rāma threatens punitive action if Sugrīva continues to neglect the promised search for Sītā, invoking Vālī’s fate as a warning.
Rāma’s unwavering commitment to dharma and satya—holding even allies answerable to their sworn obligations.
