Viśvāmitra Attains Brahmarṣi Status
एवमुक्त्वा महातेजा विरराम द्विजोत्तम:।।।।शतानन्दवच: श्रुत्वा रामलक्ष्मणसन्निधौ।जनक: प्राञ्जलिर्वाक्यमुवाच कुशिकात्मजम्।।।।
evam uktvā mahātejā virarāma dvijottamaḥ ||
如是言毕,那位光辉炽盛、二次生者中最胜者,便默然止语。
After completion of a thousand years the great ascetic became a piece of wood. In spite of many impediments, he was unshaken, anger did not enter into his mind. O Rama! with firm determination he practised austerities.
Dharma in discourse includes restraint and order: knowing when to conclude speech, allowing others—especially hosts and elders—to respond appropriately.
Śatānanda finishes narrating Viśvāmitra’s deeds and falls silent, creating space for Janaka to speak.
