The Commissioning and Public Performance of the Rāmāyaṇa
ह्लादयत्सर्वगात्राणि मनांसि हृदयानि च।श्रोत्राश्रयसुखं गेयं तद्बभौ जनसंसदि।।1.4.29।।
hlādayat sarvagātrāṇi manāṃsi hṛdayāni ca | śrotrāśrayasukhaṃ geyaṃ tad babhau janasaṃsadi || 1.4.29 ||
那歌声在众会之中熠熠生辉,令四肢百骸、心意与胸怀皆欢悦;悦耳入听,抚慰聆者。
Addressing the assembly of men Rama said "Both Kusa and Lava, even though ascetics, are endowed with the attributes of royalty. Eventhough they are singers, they are ascetics. This is even conducive to my well-being. Listen to the meaningful story with concentration".
True teaching uplifts: when satya is delivered skillfully, it benefits the whole person—mind and heart—encouraging receptivity to dharma.

The virtue is collective receptivity—listeners embody śraddhā (trustful attention), enabling the teaching to transform them.
