FAQs

Dharma is sustained by tapas (discipline). Power and knowledge become truly effective—and ethically directed—when cultivated through self-restraint and spiritual effort rather than indulgence.

Viśvāmitra reassures Rāma of his innate virtues and explains that the mantra-vidyās grow more versatile when supported by austerity.

Inner discipline and receptivity: Rāma is portrayed as already virtuous, and capable of deepening that virtue through tapas.
