दशरथस्य शोकानुचिन्तनं शब्धवेधि-दोषस्मरणं च
Daśaratha’s grief, karmic reflection, and the remembered ‘śabdavedhī’ misdeed
नाहं तथाऽनु शोचामि जीवितक्षयमात्मनः।मातरं पितरं चोभावनुशोचामि मद्वधे।।2.63.33।।
nāhaṃ tathānuśocāmi jīvitakṣayam ātmanaḥ | mātaraṃ pitaraṃ cobhāv anuśocāmi madvadhe || 2.63.33 ||
我并不那样哀伤自身寿命的断绝；我更哀伤的是父母二人——我若被杀，他们将如何是好？
'I do not regret so much about the loss of my own life as about my mother and father after I am dead.
