षष्टितमः सर्गः — Kausalyā’s Lament and Sumantra’s Consolation
Sītā’s Fearless Forest-Life
विजनेऽपि वने सीता वासं प्राप्य गृहेष्विव।विस्रम्भं लभतेऽभीता रामे सन्न्यस्तमानसा।।।।
vijane 'pi vane sītā vāsaṃ prāpya gṛheṣv iva |
visrambhaṃ labhate 'bhītā rāme sannyastamānasā ||
即便在寂寥的森林里,悉多住在那里如同在家一般;她安稳无惧,因为她的心念全然安住于罗摩。
Sita with her mind fixed on Rama is living confidently in that desolate forest without any fear as if it were her home.
Dharma here is steadfastness: inner security arises from fidelity to one’s righteous commitment and trust in the virtuous (Rāma), not from external comfort.
During the exile period, Sītā is living in the wilderness; the speaker observes that she remains calm and confident despite the harsh setting.
Sītā’s fearlessness and unwavering devotion—her mind remains anchored in Rāma, transforming hardship into a livable ‘home’.
