Sumantra’s Return to Ayodhya and the Palace’s Lament
दानयज्ञविवाहेषु समाजेषु महत्सु च।न द्रक्ष्यामः पुन र्जातु धार्मिकं राममन्तरा।।।।
dāna-yajña-vivāheṣu samājeṣu mahatsu ca | na drakṣyāmaḥ punar jātu dhārmikaṃ rāmam antarā ||
在布施、祭祀、婚礼以及盛大的集会之中,我们将永不再见到那位正法的罗摩在我们中间。
No longer will we see Rama at sacrifices, weddings, great assemblies and at places of charitable activity.
Dharma is communal and visible: the righteous person elevates public rites and social institutions; his absence feels like a moral vacuum in civic and sacred life.
Citizens list the public and religious occasions where Rāma used to appear, grieving that such dharmic presence will be lost.
Rāma’s dhārmikatā (righteousness) as a public exemplar—his conduct sanctifies communal events by personal integrity.
