Lakshmana’s Vow to Follow Rama and the Retrieval of Divine Weapons
ये च राज्ञो ददौ दिव्ये महात्मा वरुण स्स्वयम्।जनकस्य महायज्ञे धनुषी रौद्रदर्शने।।2.31.27।।अभेद्यकवचे दिव्ये तूणी चाक्षयसायकौ।आदित्यविमलौ चोभौ खड्गौ हेमपरिष्कृतौ।।2.31.28।।सत्कृत्य निहितं सर्वमेतदाचार्यसद्मनि।सर्वमायुधमादाय क्षिप्रमाव्रज लक्ष्मण।।2.31.29।।
satkṛtya nihitaṃ sarvam etad ācāryasadmani | sarvam āyudham ādāya kṣipram āvraja lakṣmaṇa ||
这一切都已恭敬安置在我等师尊的居所。取齐全部兵器甲胄,速速归来吧,哦罗刹摩那。
If you have decided to go to the forest where deer and elephants abound, I shall also accompany you by walking before you, holding the bow.
Dharma is reverence and right custody: sacred objects are stored with honour in the guru’s house, reflecting that power must be governed by discipline and tradition.
Rāma instructs Lakṣmaṇa to fetch the consecrated weapons stored at the preceptor’s residence, as part of imminent departure.
