Kaikeyi’s Demand and the Noose of the King’s Promise
सोमसूर्यौ च काकुत्स्थ शिववैश्रवणावपि।।।।वरुणश्चाग्निरिन्द्रश्च विजयं प्रदिशन्तु ते।
somasūryau ca kākutstha śivavaiśravaṇāv api |
varuṇaś cāgnir indraś ca vijayaṃ pradiśantu te ||
迦拘斯陀之裔啊,愿苏摩与苏利耶、湿婆与毗舍罗伐那,以及伐楼那、阿耆尼与因陀罗,赐你胜利。
O descendent of Kakutstha, may Moon and Sun, Siva and Kubera, Varuna, Agni and Indra bestow victory on you.
Dharma recognizes divine order supporting righteous rule: victory is sought not for conquest alone but for the protection of dharma through legitimate kingship.
Sumantra concludes/continues his morning address with a blessing invoking major deities for the king’s success.
