The Queens Behold Rama’s Śrāddha Offering
yathā rāme tathā tasmin sarvā vavṛtire striyaḥ | vṛttiṃ daśarathāj jāte lakṣmaṇe śubhalakṣaṇe ||
All the queens treated Lakshmana, born of Dasaratha and endowed with auspicious qualities, with the same love as they did to Rama.
It underscores impartial familial dharma: love and respect are extended according to virtue and relationship, not rivalry—supporting harmony within the royal household.
In the hermitage meeting, the queens’ attitude toward Lakshmana mirrors their attitude toward Rama.
Lakshmana’s auspicious character and worthiness of equal respect; the queens’ fairness and maternal inclusivity.
