The Greatness of the Gaṅgā
Gaṅgāmāhātmya
सेयं गङ्गा महापुण्या नदी भक्त्या निषेविता । मेषतौलिमृगार्केषु पावयत्यखिलं जगत् ॥ २९ ॥
seyaṃ gaṅgā mahāpuṇyā nadī bhaktyā niṣevitā | meṣataulimṛgārkeṣu pāvayatyakhilaṃ jagat || 29 ||
此即恒河(Gaṅgā)——功德无量之圣河,为信众以奉爱(bhakti)恭敬亲近;当太阳行至梅沙(Meṣa,白羊)、陶利(Taulī,天秤)与“鹿”(Mṛga,Mṛgaśīrṣa时节/日行段)之时,她净化整个世界。
