The Greatness of Viṣṇu
Viṣṇor Māhātmya

anityā bāndhavāḥ sarve vibhavo naiva śāśvataḥ | nityaṃ sannihito mṛtyuḥ kartavyo dharmasaṅgrahaḥ || 49 ||
一切亲眷皆无常,富贵亦非永恒。死亡恒常近在咫尺;故当恒久积集并奉行达摩。

It establishes nitya-anitya viveka (discrimination between the eternal and the transient): since relations and wealth are unstable and death is ever-near, one should prioritize Dharma as the lasting spiritual capital.
By reducing dependence on temporary supports (family, status, wealth), the mind turns toward lasting refuge—Dharma that culminates in devotion to the Lord; this detachment supports steadiness in Vishnu-bhakti and disciplined worship.
Not a technical Vedāṅga lesson; the practical takeaway is sadācāra (right conduct) and daily discipline—using time wisely for dharmic duties, vows, charity, and worship because life is uncertain.
