The Exposition of Spiritual Knowledge
Jñāna-pradarśanam
भज विष्णुं परं नित्यं स्मर नारायणं प्रभुम् । परापवादं पैशुन्यं कदाचिदपि मा कृथाः ॥ ४३ ॥
bhaja viṣṇuṃ paraṃ nityaṃ smara nārāyaṇaṃ prabhum | parāpavādaṃ paiśunyaṃ kadācidapi mā kṛthāḥ || 43 ||
应恒常礼敬至上的毗湿奴,常忆念主那罗延。切莫在任何时候诽谤他人,亦勿搬弄恶意之言。
Sanatkumara (in instruction to Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It pairs positive sādhana (bhajana and constant smaraṇa of Vishnu-Narayana) with a key restraint (avoiding slander and malicious speech), showing that devotion must be supported by purity of conduct and speech.
Bhakti here is defined as continuous worship and remembrance of the Supreme Lord, not merely ritual acts; it also requires removing offenses like parāpavāda and paiśunya that disturb the heart and harm devotion.
No specific Vedanga (like Śikṣā, Vyākaraṇa, or Jyotiṣa) is taught directly; the practical takeaway is dhārmic speech-discipline (vāg-niyama) as an essential support for mantra-japa, remembrance, and devotional practice.
