Sanatkumara (in instruction to Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It teaches that outer purity (śauca) supports inner reverence: sacred acts like tending Agni and worshiping guru-devatās should be done only in a fit, purified state so the mind and ritual remain disciplined and respectful.
Bhakti is expressed through proper conduct: approaching the guru and the deities with cleanliness and humility is itself devotional service, showing that devotion is not only emotion but also regulated worship (upacāra) and restraint.
It reflects ritual discipline connected with Kalpa (procedural rules) and Śikṣā/ācāra traditions—practical do’s and don’ts for worship, fire-service, and respectful bodily etiquette such as how water is to be taken.
