Vrata: Haripañcaka (contextual)
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
The verse frames vrata as a disciplined, time-specific spiritual practice: when performed with sense-restraint on the prescribed tithi, it is said to yield comprehensive merit—fulfilling desires and concentrating the fruits of many vows.
By emphasizing niyatendriya (control of the senses), it highlights an inner devotional posture—self-regulation and purity—through which ritual observance becomes a focused offering rather than mere external action.
It relies on calendrical precision—month (Mārgaśīrṣa), fortnight (śukla pakṣa), and tithi (Daśamī)—reflecting practical Jyotiṣa/Vedāṅga usage for correctly timing religious observances.
