Nārada’s Hymn to Viṣṇu
Nāradasya Viṣṇu-stavaḥ
gṛṇan nāmāni sapremabhaktiyukto madhudviṣaḥ | nārāyaṇācyutānanta vāsudeva janārdana || 9 ||
Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It presents nāma-smaraṇa (remembrance by divine names) as a direct bhakti-practice: reciting Viṣṇu’s names with love purifies the mind and supports liberation-oriented devotion.
Bhakti is defined here not as mere repetition but as chanting joined with sa-prema (love) and heartfelt dedication; the named forms of Viṣṇu become the focus for constant remembrance.
The practical takeaway is correct, disciplined recitation (śabda-sādhana): clear pronunciation and mindful repetition—principles aligned with Śikṣā (phonetics) and Vyākaraṇa (proper word-forms) for effective mantra/nāma practice.
