Narration of Dharma
द्वादश्यां पौर्णमास्यां यः क्षीरेण स्नापयेद्धरिम् । कुलायुतयुतः सोऽपि मोदते वैष्णवे पदे ॥ ३४ ॥
dvādaśyāṃ paurṇamāsyāṃ yaḥ kṣīreṇa snāpayeddharim | kulāyutayutaḥ so'pi modate vaiṣṇave pade || 34 ||
若有人在与满月相合的十二日斋(Dvādaśī)以乳沐浴哈利,即便背负万族累积之罪,亦得在至上的毗湿奴信众之境欢喜安住。
Narada
Vrata: Dvādaśī observance (Vaiṣṇava tithi); Paurṇamāsī conjunction
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It elevates Dvādaśī worship of Vishnu—specifically milk-abhiṣeka—as a powerful act of purification that leads the devotee toward the Vaiṣṇava abode, indicating mokṣa-oriented fruit through bhakti.
Bhakti is shown as practical and ritualized: lovingly serving Hari through snāpana (abhisheka) on an auspicious tithi. The emphasis is on devotion expressed via worship, not merely abstract knowledge.
It relies on calendrical discipline—tithi observance (Dvādaśī) and lunar timing (Paurṇimā)—which connects to Jyotiṣa (Vedāṅga astrology) for determining the proper ritual day.
