Adhyaya 40 — The Yogin’s Impediments (Upasargas), Subtle Concentrations, and the Eight Siddhis
तेभ्यस्तेभ्यश्च कर्मभ्य उपसृष्टोऽभिवाञ्छति । चित्तमित्थं वर्तमानं यत्नाद्योगी निवर्तयेत् ॥
tebhyas tebhyaś ca karmabhya upasṛṣṭo 'bhivāñchati | cittam itthaṃ vartamānaṃ yatnād yogī nivartayet ||

The remedy is active vigilance: when the mind inclines toward sidetracks, the yogin must intentionally reverse that movement—discipline is presented as a conscious reorientation.
