Identification of the Pāṇḍavas in Virāṭa’s Court
आमन्त्र्य वीरांश्न तथैव मान्यान् गाण्डीवघोषेण विनाद्य लोकान्
āmantṛya vīrāṁs tathaiva mānyān gāṇḍīvaghoṣeṇa vinādya lokān
他郑重辞别诸位勇士与可敬的长老,随即以甘狄婆之弓发出雷霆般的轰鸣,使诸界回响——此举既是恭敬的告退,也是向众人昭示:他已备好为正法而行。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even in moments of martial urgency, one should uphold decorum: acknowledging heroes and honoring elders before acting. The verse frames strength as disciplined and ethically situated—power expressed without abandoning respect and social duty.
After addressing the brave warriors and respected elders, the figure associated with the Gāṇḍīva (Arjuna) sounds the bow so loudly that it seems to make the whole world reverberate—announcing presence, resolve, and the imminent turn toward open conflict.
