Educational Q&A

The verse highlights disciplined concealment and prudent conduct during adversity: the heroes uphold their larger dharma by maintaining secrecy and asking what righteous, strategic steps follow once safety in disguise is secured.

Janamejaya asks the Brahmin narrator what the Pāṇḍavas did next after settling incognito in the Matsya capital, transitioning the story to the subsequent events of their hidden year in Virāṭa’s realm.
