Āraṇyaka-parva Adhyāya 44 — Arjuna’s Entry into Nandana and Audience with Indra
sa śikṣito nṛtyaguṇān anekān vāditragītārthaguṇāṁś ca sarvān | na śarma lebhe paravīrahantā bhrātṝn smaran mātaraṁ caiva kuntīm ||
Worldly accomplishments and refined arts do not automatically bring serenity; remembrance of one’s obligations and loved ones can outweigh external success, pointing to the primacy of dharma and familial responsibility over mere skill.
Arjuna has undergone training in dance, instrumental music, and singing, but despite this progress he remains inwardly unsettled because he continually thinks of his brothers and his mother Kuntī.
