तमादित्यमिवोद्यन्तमनाधृष्यं महाबलम् | क्षत्रियान्तकरं राममेकमेक: समासदम्
tam ādityam ivodyantam anādhṛṣyaṃ mahābalam | kṣatriyāntakaraṃ rāmaṃ ekam ekaḥ samāsadam ||
毗湿摩说道:“我见罗摩(帕罗修罗摩)独自立于战场——光辉如旭日初升,不可攻破,力大无穷,且以‘诛灭刹帝利者’闻名。故我亦独自前往,与之相对。”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma: when a formidable challenger stands for battle, one must meet him with courage and personal responsibility. Bhīṣma’s choice to face Paraśurāma alone underscores honor, steadfastness, and readiness to uphold one’s duty even against an overwhelming opponent.
Bhīṣma describes seeing Paraśurāma—radiant like the rising sun and renowned for annihilating kṣatriyas—standing alone, prepared for combat. In response, Bhīṣma states that he too went alone to confront him, setting the tone for their celebrated duel.
