iti śrīmahābhārate śāntiparvaṇi rājadharmānuśāsanaparvaṇi indrāmbārīṣasaṃvāde aṣṭanavatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ
This line is a colophon: it does not add a new teaching, but signals that the chapter within the Rājadharma instruction—framed as the Indra–Ambarīṣa dialogue—has concluded, emphasizing the text’s didactic setting on righteous governance.
Bhīṣma’s discourse to Yudhiṣṭhira is being organized into chapters; here the redactor’s closing formula marks the end of the ninety-eighth chapter of the Indra–Ambarīṣa conversation within the Śānti Parva’s royal-dharma instruction section.
