यां यामिच्छेत् तनुं देव: कर्तु कार्यविधौ क्वचित् । तां तां कुर्याद् विकुर्वाण: स्वयमात्मानमात्मना
yāṁ yām icchet tanuṁ devaḥ kartuṁ kārya-vidhau kvacit | tāṁ tāṁ kuryād vikurvāṇaḥ svayam ātmānam ātmanā ||
毗舍摩波耶那说道:至上神每当欲为成办某事而取受某一身相之时,便于其时以自身之力自我变现,显现彼彼形体,使所欲成之业得以圆满。
वैशग्पायन उवाच
The Supreme is free from limitation by any single form and can manifest whatever embodiment is required to accomplish a purpose—especially the maintenance of order and the fulfillment of dharma—acting through His own inherent power.
Vaiśaṃpāyana states a doctrinal point within the Śānti Parva’s reflective teaching: the Divine, when a task arises, assumes an appropriate form and becomes manifest to carry out that work, emphasizing purposeful manifestation rather than accidental embodiment.
