The Lord’s direct vision (darśana) is rare and not guaranteed even to exalted beings like Brahmā and the gods; it is attained through exceptional spiritual qualification, humility, and divine grace rather than mere rank or power.
Śaunaka, in dialogue context within Śānti Parva, emphasizes the extraordinary difficulty of obtaining the Lord’s presence/vision, highlighting the reverence shown by all worlds and the limitation of even celestial beings and great sages in attaining that darśana.
