Nāga-āyatana-darśana-pratīkṣā — The Brāhmaṇa’s Request and Waiting on the Gomatī
na citraṁ kṛtavāṁs tatra yad āryo me dhanañjayaḥ | vāsudeva-sahāyo yaḥ prāptavān jayam uttamam ||

The verse highlights that extraordinary success is not merely personal prowess; when one is supported by a higher, righteous power (Vāsudeva), victory becomes natural. Ethically, it encourages humility and recognition of grace and right guidance behind achievement.
Janamejaya comments on Arjuna’s triumph, saying it is unsurprising because Arjuna had Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa) as his ally. The remark frames Arjuna’s victory as grounded in divine companionship rather than as a standalone marvel.
