Atithi-prāpti and the Brāhmaṇa’s Deliberation on Triadic Dharma (अतिथिप्राप्तिः धर्मत्रयविचारश्च)

śrībhagavān uvāca—suraśreṣṭha! yatra vedā yajñās tapaḥ satyam indriyasaṃyamo ’hiṃsā-dharmaś ca pracalitāḥ, tasmin deśe tvayā sevanīyam. evaṃ kṛte tvāṃ adharmo ’pi ekena pādena na spraśiṣyati. vyāsa uvāca—tadanuśiṣṭā bhagavatā devāḥ saṛṣigaṇās tathā; namaskṛtvā bhagavate jagmur deśān yathā-ipsitān.

Educational Q&A

One should choose to live in a society where Vedic learning, sacrificial duty, austerity, truthfulness, sense-restraint, and non-violence are genuinely practiced; such an environment protects a person from the influence of adharma.

After the Lord gives this ethical instruction to the foremost deity, Vyāsa narrates that the gods, accompanied by sages, bow to the Lord and then depart to their chosen destinations.
