अश्वशिरो-आख्यानम्

एकविंशतिरुत्पन्नास्ते प्रजापतय: स्मृता: । तस्य देवस्य मर्यादां पूजयन्त: सनातनीम्‌

ekaviṁśatir utpannās te prajāpātayaḥ smṛtāḥ | tasya devasya maryādāṁ pūjayantaḥ sanātanīm | brahmā rudraḥ manuḥ dakṣaḥ bhṛguḥ dharmaḥ tapaḥ yamaḥ marīciḥ aṅgirāḥ atriḥ pulastyaḥ pulahaḥ kratuḥ vasiṣṭhaḥ parameṣṭhī sūryaḥ candramāḥ kardamaḥ krodhaḥ vikrītaś ca |

那罗陀说道:“他们被追忆为从那至上神祇而生的二十一位生主(Prajāpati)。他们敬奉并守护他永恒的达摩界限,作为宇宙秩序的守卫者而屹立——梵天、鲁陀罗、摩奴、达叉、婆利古、达摩、苦行(Tapas)、阎摩、摩利支、安祇罗、阿底利、普罗私底耶、普罗诃、克罗图、婆悉吒、帕拉梅什提因、苏利耶、旃陀罗摩、迦尔达摩、克罗陀与维克利塔。”

Educational Q&A

Even the highest cosmic progenitors (Prajāpatis) are portrayed as originating from the Supreme and as bound to uphold His sanātanī maryādā—an eternal dharmic order. Authority and power are legitimate only when aligned with dharma.

Nārada enumerates a traditional list of twenty-one Prajāpatis and states that they arise from the Supreme Deity and continually honour and maintain the eternal dharma-boundary that sustains the world.
