Wealth is best used through non-greedy renunciation and charitable bestowal—especially in meritorious contexts (tīrtha)—while avoiding sin and remaining established in disciplined action; this purifies intention and supports firm realization of the Supreme as pure consciousness/knowledge.
In Śānti Parva’s didactic discourse, Kapila instructs on the ethical handling of wealth: the virtuous relinquish attachment, give appropriately, and thereby progress from right conduct (karma-yoga) toward steady spiritual certainty (jñāna) about the Supreme Reality.
