Adhyāya 262: Śabda-brahman, Para-brahman, and the Ethics of Tyāga
Kapila–Syūmaraśmi Saṃvāda
True religious practice is defined by purity and non-violence, not by the pursuit of heaven, fame, or wealth. Those who seek Brahman as the highest goal offer simple, harmless oblations; greed-driven ritualism is criticized.
Chulādhāra contrasts sāttvika seekers with profit-seeking priests: the former perform non-violent sacrifices with plant-based offerings and aim for Brahman, while the latter refuse to officiate because there is no material gain.
