पश्यामि त्वां विराजन्तं देवराजमवस्थितम् । श्रीमन्तं द्युतिमन्तं च गर्जमानं ममोपरि
paśyāmi tvāṁ virājantaṁ devarājam avasthitam | śrīmantam dyutimantaṁ ca garjamānaṁ mamopari ||
“我见汝光辉赫奕,安然端立,为诸天之王;具足吉祥威仪与炽盛神光,于我之上轰然如雷。”

The verse highlights discerning reverence: genuine supremacy is recognized through steadfast presence (avasthita), auspicious majesty (śrī), and luminous excellence (dyuti), not merely through dominance. Ethical authority inspires awe because it is grounded in stable, rightful sovereignty.
Śakra (Indra) addresses a divine figure he identifies as ‘devarāja,’ describing what he perceives: the figure stands established, radiant with prosperity and brilliance, and ‘roars’ above him—imagery that conveys overwhelming divine presence and Indra’s acknowledgment of a higher or more manifest lordship.
