Adhyāya 180: Jīva, Śarīra, and the Fire Analogy (भृगु–भरद्वाज संवादः)
अनियतफलभक्ष्यभोज्यपेयं विधिपरिणामविभक्तदेशकालम् | हृदयसुखमसेवितं कदर्य- ब्रीतमिदमाजगरं शुचिश्नचरामि
bhīṣma uvāca | aniyata-phalabhakṣya-bhojya-peyaṁ vidhi-pariṇāma-vibhakta-deśa-kālam | hṛdaya-sukham asevitaṁ kadarya-vrītam idaṁ ājagaraṁ śuciśn carāmi |
毗湿摩说道：“此‘蟒蛇之誓’令我心悦。在其中，果品、食物、饮食与饮水皆无定制；凡不请自来者，唯以彼自养。随宿命之果成熟，处所与时分自有分配。贪恋诸境的卑劣之人不肯承担；我以清净之心修此誓。”
