गदायुद्धप्रतिज्ञा — The Vow and Terms of the Mace Duel
अप्रियाणां च वचनैद्रौपद्या: कर्षणेन च । एतस्मात् कारणात् पाप जीवितं ते न विद्यते
apriyāṇāṃ ca vacanair draupadyāḥ karṣaṇena ca | etasmāt kāraṇāt pāpa jīvitaṃ te na vidyate ||
尤提士提罗说道:“因你出言粗暴、侮辱,又以蛮力拖拽德劳帕蒂——罪人啊!——正因这些行径,你的性命将不再存留。”
युधिछिर उवाच
Abusive speech and the humiliation of a virtuous person—especially the violent dishonoring of a woman—are grave adharma. Such acts invite inevitable retribution; moral order (dharma) demands accountability.
Yudhiṣṭhira recalls the outrage done to Draupadī—both the cruel words spoken to her and her being dragged—and declares that these crimes ensure the offender’s destruction, framing the coming punishment as a consequence of adharma.
