गाण्डीवधारी अर्जुनका ध्वज मानो युद्धका इच्छुक होकर कर्णके ध्वजपर आक्रमण करने लगा। अर्जुनकी ध्वजाका महान् वेगशाली वानर उस समय अपने स्थानसे उछला और कर्णकी ध्वजाकी साँकलपर चोट करने लगा, जैसे गरुड़ अपने पंजों और चोंचसे सर्पपर प्रहार कर रहे हों ।।
sā kiḍkiṇīkābharaṇā kālapāśopamāyasī | abhyadravat susaṃrabdhā hastikakṣyātha taṃ kapim ||
三阇耶说道：执甘狄婆之阿周那的旗帜，仿佛渴求战斗一般，向迦尔那的军旗发起冲击。其时，阿周那旗上的疾猛神猴从原位跃起，猛击迦尔那旗上的锁链，宛如迦楼罗以爪与喙撕击毒蛇。那锁链缀以叮当小铃，形同死神之索（迦罗缚绳，kāla-pāśa），在狂怒中猛然扑来，反击那只神猴——哈奴曼——气势凶烈。
