Shloka 503

राक्षसा: सह यादोभि: श्वसृगालाश्व कर्णत: । प्रेत, पिशाच, मांसभोजी पशु-पक्षी, राक्षस, जल-जन्तु, कुत्ते और सियार--ये कर्णके पक्षमें हो गये

sañjaya uvāca | rākṣasāḥ saha yādobhiḥ śvaśṛgālāśva karṇataḥ | preta-piśāca-māṃsabhogī paśu-pakṣī rākṣasa jala-jantu kutte aur siyār—ye karṇake pakṣaṃ ho gaye |

三阇耶说道:与罗刹与夜陀婆同在的,还有狗、豺与马——并有饿鬼(preta)与毗舍遮(piśāca)、食肉之类、走兽飞禽、其他罗刹、水中生灵以及食腐之徒——都被看见纷纷归附于迦尔那一方。此番叙述渲染出迦尔那营中不祥的道德氛围,仿佛当战场上阿达摩(adharma)渐占上风之处,凶兆之力与掠食的冲动便群聚而来。
