द्रोणादनन्तरं यत्तो भगदत्त: प्रतापवान् | मगधैश्न कलिड्रैश्व पिशाचैश्व विशाम्पते,प्रजेश्वर! द्रोणके पीछे मागध, कलिंग और पिशाच सैनिकोंके साथ प्रतापी राजा भगदत्त जा रहे थे, जो बड़े सावधान थे
droṇād anantaraṃ yatto bhagadattaḥ pratāpavān | māgadhaiś ca kaliṅgaiś ca piśācaiś ca viśāṃ pate prajeśvara ||
三阇耶说道:紧随德罗那之后,强大的婆伽达多警觉而坚定地推进,身旁有摩揭陀、迦陵伽以及毗舍遮诸部的军队相随。
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights vigilance and disciplined organization in action: even amid a dharma-conflict, leaders and troops are portrayed as moving with alertness and order. Ethically, it reminds the reader that power and alliances are morally neutral tools—how they are used determines whether they serve dharma or adharma.
Sañjaya describes the Kaurava battle array: immediately behind Droṇa, King Bhagadatta advances, accompanied by forces identified as Magadha, Kaliṅga, and Piśāca contingents, indicating the breadth of allied support and the careful sequencing of commanders on the battlefield.
