Duryodhana’s Anxiety, Bhīṣma’s Reassurance, and Renewed Mobilization
sa viddho vikṣaran raktaṁ śatru-saṁvāraṇaṁ mahat | ciccheda citrasenasya citra-kārmukam arjuniḥ ||

The verse highlights steadfast courage and disciplined action under suffering: even while wounded and bleeding, the warrior focuses on neutralizing the opponent’s capacity to harm (cutting the bow), embodying kṣatriya resolve and presence of mind in crisis.
In the battle narration by Sañjaya, Abhimanyu, though struck by two adversaries and bleeding, severs Chitrasena’s powerful, enemy-checking bow, thereby weakening Chitrasena’s offensive capability.
