वे मानससरोवरमें निवास करनेवाले हंसरूपधारी महर्षि एक साथ उड़ते हुए बड़ी उतावलीके साथ कुरुकुलके वृद्धपितामह भीष्मका दर्शन करनेके लिये उस स्थानपर आये, जहाँ वे नरश्रेष्ठ बाणशय्यापर सो रहे थे ।।
sañjaya uvāca | te tu bhīṣmaṃ samāsādya ṛṣayo haṃsarūpiṇaḥ | apaśyañ charatalpasthaṃ bhīṣmaṃ kurukulodvaham ||
三阇耶说道：那些住于摩那萨罗婆的大仙人化作天鹅之形，一齐振翅急速飞来，为的是瞻礼俱卢族年迈的祖父毗湿摩——就在那处，人中最胜者卧于箭床之上。诸天鹅形的仙人来到毗湿摩跟前，看见这位俱卢宗族的擎柱，正躺在箭床上。
