The verse highlights how collective harmony and joyful, auspicious conduct can transform a place into something spiritually and aesthetically elevated—so powerful that it is likened to reaching heaven. It also uses the Meru-and-sages simile to suggest that noble company itself is an ornament.
A festive gathering has formed on the summit of a great mountain. Men and women, overcome with joy, sing so sweetly and loudly that their resonance seems to pervade the sky; the mountain’s beauty is intensified by the assembly of the people of Dvārakā, like Meru adorned by sages.
