अहानि त्रिंशदव्यग्र: पठच चान्यानि भारत । क्रोधामर्षाभिसंतप्तस्तदा ब्राह्णसत्तम:

Transliteration

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

ahāni triṃśad avyagraḥ khanat cānyāni bhārata |

krodhāmarṣābhisaṃtaptaḥ tadā brāhmaṇasattamaḥ ||

Translation

毗舍波耶那说：噢，婆罗多啊，那时婆罗门中最卓越者优多迦，因愤怒与受辱的自尊而炽燃，心无旁骛，连续掘土三十日有余。此段表明强烈情绪能驱使人不懈奋力，却也暗示道义上的张力：坚忍的决心与被嗔怒所役之间，往往只隔一线。
